I've seen a lot of people with USMC impressions on here so far, but I'm curious, who has a group that they do USMC with and who are lone guys who have all the stuff they need for an impression? I get the feeling there are lots of guys with USMC impressions but they haven't been consolidated into units.

On my side of the country, there were a couple of groups that had formed up and then dissolved due to a lack of events. Among some of my fellow reenactors in my club, we found happiness in departing from our typical Army ETO uniforms by coming out as USMC for displays or even dances. We typically change it up each year for one certain event which gives us a whole year to research (and acquire) that year's chosen unit and gear.

Well this is Sgt. JP Jones with 2nd Bat 8th Reg Marine Reenactors and our group has been around since the late 90's. We have a group of 15 and are located in the mid-south area. I finally took it upon myself to get us caught up with the times and created us a website and facebook page. www.2ndmarinereenactors.com is the website but due to an update failure im having to start from scratch. Our facebook page has alot of our pics from events, its www.facebook/2ndmarinereenactors. Any that would want to join in are welcome to contact me.

We are a rag tag bunch but we hold our own. Appreciate the like on FB, i sent you one back. I hope to spark a interest in the PTO family with the event we are planning next year, of course it would appeal to ETO as well.

Well I hope that one day we can all get together and have a PTO bash. I'm currently in school in Arizona but I may be heading back to the East Coast in a little over a year. My unit CO is in Okinawa right now and is trying to head back to NC eventually. Could be fun.

Right now I'm the only one I know of in the St.Louis area, but hoping to get more interested. Have been doing a " crappy" FJ impression for a while, and putting together all needed to get hooked up with buddies of mine in 2nd Rangers. Thought I'd like to put together a general USMC impression as well.
Gonna have to hook up with JP and his crew sometime for events in Jackson since its in easy driving distance!

Gents, i've been working on some ideas for events and event locations in the southern US when I return. Just so I can consider it in planning, where in the south are most of your guys and how many hours of drive time are you willing to consider, I'll try to find likely locations somewhere convenient for all.

We have 5 members in Northeast Ark, 10 members in West Tenn, 2 in North Ala, and 1 in southeast TX. Most of us will travel at least 6 to 8 hrs for one big event a year. Our events that we hold are usually 2 to 3 hrs for most.

There used to be a Japanese unit from ARK...47th Independent Mixed Brigade, but it's been a while since they've done much. If you get something going down that way, I can get in touch with Russ and see what's what.
