Hey all. Let's see who in here is Navy. I'll go first. I'm Doc Bowers, I portray a Navy Pharmacist's Mate assigned to the 28th Marines (prior Paramarine) at Iwo. So all of you Devil Docs, Swabbies, SeeBees and if there's some Coasties, too, let's hear it.

Gotta do some "knuckle bustin" on her to get a ride LT but I don't think it'll be that hard to get ya airborne. She's a little cramped inside due to all the equipment but actually somewhat roomy too.

I've acquired quite a bit of a Navy collection of uniforms so that I have some versatility. My group of friends and I like to change up portrayals at events, but we're looking to focus more on the Navy aspect. Without a ship, most of our displays have to focus on green-side units. We've done a Seabee display, which was the 6th Special NCB, which handled stevedoring on Bougainville. We're hoping to do more Navy displays at future events. At dances, we typically dress out as enlisted, either in whites or blues, as appropriate for the season and era, and often tied into a certain type of unit (aviation rates, Seabees, minesweeper crew, etc.) that's out on liberty.

I hate to show my ignorance, but what aircraft is that? It looks a bit like a B-25 but I think smaller, so that might make it a Martin...B-26 or something, correct? If you're old enough to remmeber Sky King, it looks like his plane.

It's a PV-2D pop, a torpedo bomber, she's fast as hell. Made by Lockheed and they were used in Alaska and the South Pacific. It's the later type of airplane that the documentary Last Flight of Bomber 31 was, (it was a PV-1)

Welcome to the board Chief Doc. As a fellow Doc, I encourage you to post to your little heart's content on anything medical. Gotta represent amongst all of these...others.
