Hey guys, I was just curious as to what your impressions looked like. Im rather new to the marine scene and I was curious to see what other guys were doing. Im personally going for a very dirty grungy lived in feel for my impression and have been working to age my kit, i was curious to see what other guys had done!

I wear one of my P41 uniforms when I go caving here so that I have one set of "salty" battle worn looking dungarees and one for garrison. No one can say it doesn't look right, if they're torn up and faded it's from days of exposure to the terrain and weather of Okinawa and other such Pacific battlefields.

Its a deal I try keeping with all my uniforms, having been around the hobby enough I have a lot of dirty, faded, some torn up (don't worry they're repros) originals. If we're supposed to be fresh troops on Day 1 of a campaign, yeah the new stuff gets broken out.
If we're "in the middle" or representing a whole campaign, the duds come out.

I need buy an old M1903 while they are still cheap. Just saw two decent pieces dated 1918/1919 with the "Marine sights" (more open peephole IIRC) on gunbroker for something I consider affordable (I expected them to be much more)

I own two USMC 1903's. My first purchase was a low number Rock Island with a serial number linking it to the 5th Marine Regt. at Belleau Wood. It was rebuilt and has a nice USMC marked,1941 dated barrel. It seldom comes out of the gun safe. The second one, I picked up this past weekend at the gun show in Richmond. Springfield with the USMC tell tale signs. visit this link for more info on USMC '03's www.jouster.com/forums/showthread.php?12840-Major-Culver-s-USMC-Rebuilding-of-the-M1903-Springfield-monograph

Interesting link! Thank you! Too bad getting one of these would require having to ruin the originality of a rifle. If only there were accurate firing replica, 1903's floating about. But a regular ol' '03 would suit me fine.
