Hey everyone I was just wondering if anyone here has an 17th Infantry Regiment on Attu Impression?
I have been slowly putting one together and I already have two of the major components, the Arctic Field Jacket and the Arctic Field Trousers. I am still looking for the Blucher boots.

Never thought about doing Attu impression. I wouldn't have minded doing a FSSF impression for Kiska except nothing happened there by the time they arrived. I think it's sad that most people don't know about the last true invasion of the United States.

The Attu Impression Sprung from essentially having a FSSF Kiska Impression(had the standard force kit and just added an Arctic Field Jacket, though I still need to find a good reproduction early type Kiska Task Force Patch). I almost started reading some about the battle for Attu which also increased my interest in recreating the battle.
But yeah it is kinda weird/sad people don't know about the battle for the Aleutians, wish I had a good chance to bring it out to a Living History or get several guys with me to do at a Living History. Some guys in the unit I am with were interested in doing it but the Arctic Field Jacket, Trousers, and Blucher Boots stopped them understandably.

Does anybody even repop any of those items?
Other question, did FSSF only wear the Kiska Task Force patch for the invasion or did they retain it into the MTO as a symbol of pride (similar to Rangers wearing the scroll with their FSSF patch after getting grouped in)?

At The Front has considered doing the Arctic Field Jacket but they haven't yet. So yeah the whole entire kit has to be original and the pieces, especially the boots it seems, are a unbelievable pain to find. So pain in the ass kit for sure.
The Force from everything I have read and seen only used and wore the Kiska Task-force Patch when they were part of the Kiska Task-force. I think this has to do with that they had little to no pride in that temporary unit that saw no combat and the fact the patches they got were the cheap silk screened ones, not the embroidered ones.
